RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- President Mahmoud Abbas met with leaders from the Palestinian security forces in Ramallah on Wednesday.

Secretary-general of the presidency Tayyeb Abdul Rahim, interior minister Saed Abu Ali, security forces assistant to the president Ismail Jaber, and presidential office chairman Hussein al-Araj were among officials who attended the meeting, a statement said.

Abbas was briefed about the current security situation in the West Bank and ordered security forces to protect and uphold the law.
