HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Police say a 23-year-old Palestinian man who died Saturday in hospital only suffered minor injuries in a fall at a soccer stadium in Hebron, and the death is considered suspicious.

Mohammad al-Haddoush was pronounced dead on arrival at a Hebron hospital, but he had only been reported to sustained a broken foot after suffering a fall at the Hussein Ben Ali international stadium.

North Hebron police chief Ashraf Mashaal said in a statement that police were called to investigate the circumstances of the man's death, which occurred before he reached the hospital.

Mashaal transferred the body to Abu Dis University medical center for autopsy.
