JERICHO (Ma'an) -- The West Bank city of Jericho, slated as the oldest city in the world, is seeing increased levels of tourism, the Palestinian police said Sunday.
More than 350,000 tourists visited Jericho during the first 6 months of 2012, the police said in a statement.
Jericho police director Mahmud Salah said the calm security situation has helped improve visitor levels to the city.
The city will hold the first annual festival for Palestinian products on August 15, to encourage Palestinian consumers to buy local.
