GAZA CITY (Ma’an) -- Gaza Marine Police said on Monday they are preventing swimming in the Gaza harbor and introducing new limits to tourist boats.

The police pointed to several dangerous accidents off the coast, including the recent death of a 16-year-old boy.

Marine police have asked the Ministry of Transport not to give any new licenses for tourist boats to avoid overcrowding.

All tourist boats will be banned during stormy seas and night hours.

They also banned the rent of paddles or fishing equipment.
