BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Palestinian refugees in Bethlehem opened an exhibition of mosaic art on Sunday, following workshops teaching the ancient craft.

Palestinian painter Mujahed Khallaf is conducting mosaic workshops in refugee camps across the West Bank hoping to revive the art in Palestine.

Mosaic work has fallen out of practice after historically playing an important part in Palestinian cultural and artistic heritage, in particular mosaics in churches and other places of worship, a press statement said.

"The language of art is understood by everyone universally," it added.

The exhibition opened at the Phoenix Center in Dheisheh camp, displaying the work of 20 refugees who took part in the course with the support of German non-governmental organizations.

Why are these Arabs incarcerated in refugee camps 62 years after they ran away and not intergrated into other countries.

More!More!More!Palestinians?DON'T LOSE YOUR BEAUTIFUL ARTISTRY &CULTURE!Revisionist Zionism will try to erase it from your hearts & souls & history, replacing it with their mythology! But don't let them! Arabian, historical art, including Islamic art/crafts are some of the most beautiful &colorful, globally. So more, more, more! Teach us your crafts of the past,I say!
Show us MORE!Include the occupation-theme,in your arts, but do NOT let it overwhelm it. Or,miserable Zionism triumphs,& it should NOT!

they say art is all about creative imagination. Certainly this is true here with the theme of 'refugees'

for alan bloom..they want to stay in their own land..the land of their forfathers which every day is being stolen from them by stealth.. they are palestinians, not jordanians or saudis or lebanese..and once they leave they know they will not be allowed to return.
