NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Eight Palestinians sustained injuries late Friday when Jewish settlers pelted a bus with stones on the main road between Ramallah and Nablus, a Palestinian official said.

Ghassan Daghlas, a PA official who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank, told Ma'an that settlers from Shilo hurled stones at a bus carrying Palestinian worshipers on their way back from al-Aqsa Mosque.

The attack, he said, took place at 1:30 a.m. and eight people including men and women were injured. They were taken to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, he said.

Daghlas highlighted that Israeli military forces closed the main road between Ramallah and Nablus for more than two hours after the incident to prevent further attacks.

The Israeli military confirmed receiving reports about the incident.

"Once the reports were received, IDF soldiers arrived at the scene and set up temporary checkpoints while searching for suspects," a spokeswoman told Ma'an.

Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is systematic in the West Bank.

On Wednesday settlers vandalized Palestinian property in the Ramallah village of Sinjil.

A group of settlers from Givat Ariel outpost wrote "Palestinians should die," and "Stay away from our lands," on a wall in the village, Sinjil mayor Ayoub Swaied said.

Settlers also left an improvised explosive device made from chemicals under a car. A box containing ethylene, benzene and sulfur was found underneath a car in the village, Swaied added.

Julie: you really need to understand, that extremist settlers are something different than normal Israeli citizens.. You can't always keep condemning every Israeli when something bad happens. There are good Israelis, and bad Israelis, as well as there is good Palestinians and bad Palestinians, like there is good Americans and bad Americans etc. Your comments would be more effective if you wouldn't pollute them with crazy sentences. Anyway, Ramadan kareem:)

I stand corrected, let me be more clear: ALL terrorism is just that, TERRORISM, regardless of who or where it originates from. AND...all izraelis living in the West Bank are ILLEGAL, which makes them ALL squatters. AND...the rampant & increasing izraeli terrorism in the West Bank typically goes UNpunished (see israeli human rights org sources for those stats!) AND...saying, "Pals should die" is Nazism, using IED's is terrorist tactic of taliban & al-qaeda. VERY DANGEROUS! Clear enough?

To posters 2. and 3. I find Julie's anger quite understandable. The colonists are vile criminals and terrorists, who - it appears - can act with impunity. There are indeed good Israeli citizens, but where are they, when it comes to clamping down on the settler scum?

@2 and @3 - Stop whitewashing the horrible crimes fellow Israelis commit. Wake up and smell the coffee. We are hated worldwide more and more each day because of outrageous criminal behavior like this. Plus, our supposed IDF refuse and fail most often to intervene and arrest such criminals. Happy about that? I'm not, I'm beyond disturbed and looking forward to moving my family out of Israel. These settlers unquestionably initiated terrorism against innocent people, an increasingly frequent event.

#3 Rmor - which part do you say is propaganda? The part that talked about the IDF closing the road to prevent further attacks? And set up checkpoints while searching for suspects?

Propaganda rag or not, the facts are that settler attacks against Palestinians are on the increase. These illegal acts of destruction of property, personal attacks, theft and destruction of water facilities and theft of land go largely unpunished and indeed, on numerous occasions are tacitly encouraged by the presence of the watching Israeli Occupation Forces. Where are the GOOD Israelis when these violences are taking place? Perhaps they are busy being GOOD somewhere else, like the rest of the

#2 & #3 Sure we can. Why? Because your government supports them. Your IDF protects them and even razes more land to accommodate them. You provide them with weapons, build for them Jews Only roads, provide them with the infrastructure to continue thriving and colonizing on someone else's land. They've committed gross acts of terrorism and murder and yet not one of them has ever been arrested, taken to court and held accountable for his crimes.
