EL-ARISH, Egypt (Ma'an) -- Egyptian security forces seized a stash of US-made missiles on Friday in the Sinai peninsula, Ma'an's correspondent said.

Egyptian security sources told Ma'an that they believe the weapons were ready to be smuggled into the Gaza Strip via underground tunnels.

The six anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles were stored in a remote desert area in north Sinai, with security forces forming a committee to seize the weaponry.

It is thought the weapons were most likely smuggled into Egypt via Libya, in an agreement that they would eventually be transferred into Gaza, security sources said.

Egyptian security forces are trying to reassert control over the Sinai, which borders Israel and the Gaza Strip and which has suffered from lawlessness since the revolt that overthrew President Hosni Mubarak in February 2011.

The army announced recently it had seized smuggled rockets and other weapons in Egypt's western desert bordering Libya, which has been awash with arms since the civil war which toppled longtime Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi in 2011.

Egyptian President Muhammed Mursi has vowed to restore order in Sinai, but mistrust runs deep between the indigenous Bedouin population there and the central government in Cairo.

AH!, So much for Morsi & the MB supporting the resistance. Collaborating shamelessly just as Mubarak before them. So much for their boasts.

We cannot thank the Egyptian security forces highly enough for intercepting and seizing these and other weapons. We fully understand whatever is captured is only a small part of what's actually getting through to Gaza. This is 1 reason why it was a colossal mistake for us to leave Gaza and undoubtedly we will have to eventually return. Despite our easing of the blockade or implementation of other beneficial actions since the latest ceasefire we know the weapons infiltrations continue.

Yehuda, what about all the US-made weapons being snuck into Israel by the Zionists? As the Jewish messiah taught: if you live by the sword, you will die by the sword.

What is it with Israel? They can have an atom bomb but Iran can't. They can have "US-made missiles" (and a whole lot more than missiles) but Palestinians in Gaza can't. I mean, it's like they think they're special.

To Jake #3 'Yehuda, what about all the US-made weapons being snuck into Israel by the Zionists?' Those are gifts. I imagine the Palestinians had to pay for theirs.

#3 "US-made weapons...snuck into Israel by the Zionists?" Don't they announce each new consignment (co-ordinated security arrangement) in the press and on TV and virtually blow the shofar when they arrive (like Iron Dome)? The Zionist Entity is hardly armed by weapons "snuck into Israel" through tunnels!

@ 3), Your sarcasm isn't funny, it's retarded. (It makes me laugh at you, not with you ... if you really want to know.) As far as referencing Jesus--whom you damn well know WE don't consider our messiah (and never will)--no disrespect, dude, but you need to re-read your New Testament. He never actually said that. He said, "Put your sword back in its place" ... "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword." (Matthew 26:52). He said this to his defender because he wanted him (cont.)

(and everyone) to know what was happening was all part of of G_d's pre-ordained Plan for him so let everything happen and develop as it should. So in total analysis and context--again, no disrespect--but we consider all his statements about drawing/living by the sword, etc. complete rubbish. He also said, "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." (Matthew 10:34). To be fair, this must also be understood in total context with all of (cont.)

Matthew 10 where he's giving a whole plethora of commandments, directions, counsel, warnings, explanations, etc., etc., etc. to his disciples for them to preach to US (his brethren Israelites, whom he designates as the "lost sheep of Israel"). It goes without much emphasis to say we consider just about all of that worthless. @ 6), " ... virtually blow the shofar when they arrive ( ... ) ?" BAH !!! HA !!! HA !!! HA !!! ... Now THAT was funny !!! WELL-said !!! Actually, we SHOULD !!!
