RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Palestinian Authority customs officials seized 13 tons of expired food products in Ramallah on Saturday, officials said.
Sources in the department of consumer protection told Ma'an that the products were all Israeli and had been smuggled in from settlements.
Customs officers raided a Ramallah apartment and found the goods, which mainly consisted of walnuts, peanuts, almonds and dried fruits.
The main suspect in the case forged fake expiry dates and repackaged products to make them look new, the sources added.
