NABLUS (Ma’an) – The union of teachers decided to suspend a strike announced earlier Tuesday after the union reached agreement with the Palestinian government, a spokesman said.
Bassam Naim told Ma’an that representatives of the union met Tuesday evening with head of a ministry committee which holds talks with the union Mousa Abu Zeid.
He confirmed that the government agreed to respond to the major demands including regular ranking system.
Teachers in the West Bank said earlier that they would resume strike action on Wednesday in protest at the Palestinian Authority's failure to meet their demands.
