Clashes reported in Silwan
Published Monday 30/08/2010 (updated) 30/08/2010 22:14
JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Clashes reportedly broke out between Israeli forces and Palestinian residents of the flashpoint neighborhood of Silwan in East Jerusalem on Monday morning, following a wave of detentions.

Ma'an's correspondent said Israeli police, intelligence officers and border guards stormed Wad Hilwa, Al-Bustan and other areas to arrest Palestinians suspected of taking part in clashes on Thursday.

Residents said settlers provoked the violence by attempting to enter the Al-Ein Mosque.

The reporter identified the detainees as Su'ad Abu Rumouz and her brother Jawad from Al-Bustan, Muezzin of the Al-Ein Mosque Adam Simrin, 68, and Fadi Siyam, 28, and his brother Nur, 20. A third Siyam brother, 16-year-old Hamza, was summoned Tuesday morning and will be escorted by his father.

A spokesman for Israel's National Police did not return a call seeking comment.

There, you see, "settlers provoked violence by attempting to enter the Al-Ein Mosque." Israeli government spokespersons neglect to mention such incidents as provocative settler violence when any retaliatory action by Palestinians hits its mark.

Every event in the occupied territories that spark violence, has its roots in the Occupation. We do not need to be intellectual to see the role of Israel hands when "their" settlers instigate violence and even provoke violence. They do with the full protection of IOF. We all know that settlers are the pawns in this game, of provocation and punishment. Instigation and Violence. Initiation and Continuation. Now, trying to switch the blame to Palestinians residents, or "Opposition" is preposterous

A news agency that censor their comments is not welcome in the readership of the free thinker world mind. When we find the Note "Comments will be reviewed for appropriate content", we go with the sensation that your news agency will only publish comments that are in agreement with your Article, and Dear Editors in this new world that we are living in, where hardly we agree in many things, is not a wise move, open your comments box, and let the readers be the judges of the content.
