JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Scores of Israeli settlers entered and toured the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem's Old City on Wednesday, as Jews marked the end of the religious holiday of Sukkot.

A guard at the mosque compound told Ma'an that approximately 95 Israelis entered the holy site, escorted by Israeli forces, and toured the compound's courtyard.

On Tuesday, Tareq Abu Subieh, a guard at the mosque compound, was detained for attempting to prevent 75 settlers from entering the site, where many Jews believe the First and Second Temple were located.

Abu Subieh said he received a restriction order barring him from entering the compound for two weeks.

A spokesman for Israel's National Police did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

this is just another attempt to marginalize those people that use the temple for it's original use. When the Israelis, begin touring through this site will this mean other religious tourists are not allowed to visit this site at the same time. The Israelis have made many claims Ref:" this was or used to be" i wounder what the reaction would be if 75 Palestinians want to visit a Jewish holy site

Observer, I know what their reaction would be if 75 Palestinians wanted to tour a Jewish holy site. They would be banned from entry, then beaten as police looked on, then arrested and then thrown in some prison. Hey, if they throw a 12 year old boy in jail, why not throw 75 Palestinians into jail, as they would think. I just wonder what motive they had to tour this mosque. Maybe they were taking notes to see how it could be bulldozed down and replaced with something else.

What would be the reaction? Do you know how many non Jews visit the wailing wall plaza everyday. Did Jews threaten so kill artists that draw Moses with blood? Stone adulterous woman? Blowup Tube trains? Wakeup

Only many Jews believe it the site of the first and second Temple. LOL Please most of the world believes that's where they were not just many Jews. The Romans recorded their destruction of the second they even have a monument to it Rome called the arch of Titus

Abe: that's naive. Sharon's "walk" was one of the sparks of the intifada. Unfortunately, nothing like this is innocent.

As if they didn't know that their visit would provoke anger... As if they didn't know that the situation is already tense... As if you who support them do not know that they are religious extremists who terrorize Palestinian civilians and are willing to terrorize Israeli moderates and seculars as well. Wake up people: religious totalitarianism is marching this way and you're caught up in the flow.

6) ABE You've forgotten about the massacred Palestinians, do your papers not publish those news? Hebron 1994? Do you not know about the on going settler violence against civilians in the West Bank? Rabbi Ovadia and Rabbi Shapira preaching that killing non-Jews is not only permissible, but even desirable? Those guys at Kiryat Arba and elsewhere keep a low profile, killing and destroying and getting away with it, but it is terrorism none the less. UN estimate: 170 settler attacks by July 2010.
