JERICHO (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces demolished several structures in a Bedouin village in the Jordan Valley on Tuesday.

Fathi Khdeirat, coordinator of the Save the Jordan Valley campaign, told Ma'an that Israeli authorities delivered demolition orders to several residents of Fasayil village on Monday. Israeli bulldozers started demolishing the structures on Tuesday.

Steel structures belonging to Omar Ubayyat, Abed Yasin Rashayda and Hussein Rashayda were destroyed, Khdeirat said.

Bedouin communities in the Jordan Valley face severe building restrictions imposed by Israeli authorities.

From 2000 to 2007, the Civil Administration approved 5 percent of the applications for building permits submitted by Palestinians in Area C.

The total number of building permits issued to Palestinians during these seven years was 91, an average of 13 building permits per annum, reports Bimkom, an Israeli organization for planning rights.

According to the UN agency OCHA, in the first six months of 2011 Israeli authorities demolished 342 Palestinian-owned structures in Area C, including 125 residential structures, displacing a total of 656 Palestinians, including 351 children -- almost five times as many demolitions and people displaced as during the first half of 2010.

"Bedouin children play near their houses Arab Al-Ramadan near the West Bank city of Qalqilia." If I wrote the caption for the above photo, it would read, 'the fear of the Israeli occupation is written on the faces of the Palestinian children.'

This apartheid action by Israel should be an international scandal. The fact that First Nation peoples of the world continue to be annhilhated or shabbily assimilated by Colonialist attitudes, shows Zionist Israel for the monster that it is. This article doesn't mention but other articles do, that the evicted people are sent a bill for demolitions by the Israeli government. Zionism is cruel, vain, dishonest and destructive. Boycott, divest from, and support sanctions against Aparheid Israel.

To Lucy #3 'This article doesn't mention but other articles do, that the evicted people are sent a bill for demolitions by the Israeli government.' Another one of those special touches that make me so fond of Israel. Who was it who used to bill the families of victims for the bullets?

If I wrote the caption, it would read, "Without A Peace Process, They Have NO Future". Israel restrained itself from demolitions of unpermitted structures, when there was a peace process, that could be harmed, but now: - There is NOT a peace process, and as a result of the Israeli restraint, - There is large number of unpermitted buildings, on unowned land, which likely explains much of the five fold increase in demolitions, though an increase in unpermitted building is also likely !!

Here in the USA, the exact same thing would also happen, holding someone responsible for their actions, of building on state land, without a permit. A state forced to knock something down, particularly again & again, would sue the builder, to recover the financial costs, and then our courts would "send a bill for demolitions" and probably the carting away costs too. And, if the builder did NOT pay, there would be either additional court imposed fines, and possibly jail time too !!!

@ 5) You are wrong! I've been reading both Israeli and Palestinian news for several years, and during the so called "peace process" Israel continued its relentless Palestinian land grab, Palestinian home demolitions, imprisonment of Palestinians without charge or conviction, building of the apartheid wall, closure of Palestinian schools/shops/economy, denial for Palestinians return to their homeland, extrajudicial killings...!
