SALFIT (Ma'an) -- Israeli military authorities have issued an order for the confiscation of a northern West Bank village's land, local officials told Ma'an on Sunday.
The military order confiscates 21.3 dunams of Qarawat Bani Hassan village in Salfit, citing security reasons. The village is bordered by three Israeli settlements.
Landowners have the right to apply for compensation or file a complaint before it is executed on Dec. 31, 2014, the order added.
Municipality chief Abdul Aziz Assi called on villagers not to give up their rights to the land and oppose the confiscation order, urging PA officials to intervene to stop the lands being seized by Israel.
