TEL AVIV, Israel (Ma'an) -- The White House on Monday announced the US administration has rejected Israeli President Shimon Peres' request to grant spy Jonathan Pollard clemency, Israeli media said.

National Security Council spokesperson Tommy Vietor said the Obama administration "has no intention to release Pollard" and that "Our position has not changed in this case," Israel's Ynet news site reported.

Peres had urged Obama to release the convicted spy due to concerns about his health.

'concerns about his health'? Boo-Hoo! Poor Pollard? He's lucky he wasn't hanged,or shot at dawn by US firing squad for SPYING AGAINST USA and endangering the "health"of hundreds of millions of Americans! He sits in minimum-security comfort, with health care facilities, after commiting TREASON & ESPIONAGE against our USA,to enable rogue nuclear-WEAPONED Israel to wage Zionist holocaust on Palestine. He can rot in prison!'Iron-Fist'Peres should be in prison 4 WAR CRIMES,human rights abuses himself!

I am surprised that AIPAC the Jewish lobby hasn't threatened the US govt on this issue. A cheek of Peres and Israeli govt to even ask for Pollards release.

We (understandably) are not going to get any traction appealing for Pollard's release any time soon/foreseeable future. It was VERY WRONG and STUPID of us to enlist him for spying against the U.S. As I understand it (someone always correct me if I'm wrong), at the time of discovery of our/his crime, no American Jewish organization came to our/his defense by trying to advocate for us/him to justify/excuse what we/he did and none do so even today. It was embarrassing as hell and remains (cont.)

so. Although we deeply apologized to the U.S., apologies for spying simply put more egg on our face. Our government was also caught spying on Russia some years ago (also very bad and we again apologized but what the hell ??? ... it just made more dumb asses of us again). The ONLY justification for us/any nation spying I can think of is if that nation's survival is directly threatened (as a nation planning direct threats on its survival, as in plans of attack). Pollard's case wasn't that.

#4&5:Yehuda? Don't put TOO much apology into scumbag Pollard!Because, when relatively compared--to most Zionist/Israeli terrorists-turned-lawless Generals-turned-Def.Mins-turned PM's-turned Pressies, from Ben Gruen &his 'Red House' butcher-shop in 1935 to present day Shimmi, all of whom have methodically wreaked holocaust on Arabs/Palestine(enabled by super powers of course & a TRILLION US tax dollars-illegally)--US spy-traitor Pollard is a MINOR offender, comparably,&small compensation, considering!

What Pollard did still effects US SECURITY . I hear a lot of laptops being stolen in the Navy and gov ,etc always making their way to Israel . Always in fine print in the back of the paper.sometimes its not there you hear abo ut it after the fact..
