TEL AVIV, Israel (Ma'an) -- The White House on Monday announced the US administration has rejected Israeli President Shimon Peres' request to grant spy Jonathan Pollard clemency, Israeli media said.
National Security Council spokesperson Tommy Vietor said the Obama administration "has no intention to release Pollard" and that "Our position has not changed in this case," Israel's Ynet news site reported.
Peres had urged Obama to release the convicted spy due to concerns about his health.
