BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israel closed checkpoints in the West Bank late Tuesday for 48 hours while the country commemorates national holidays, the army said.

All entry and exit crossings from the West Bank will be closed until Thursday at midnight, with the exception of prior-authorized medical emergencies, a press statement said.

Israel marks Memorial Day on Wednesday, and Independence Day on Thursday.

Wouldn't it be nice if the Palestinians changed their policies and announced that they were permanently stopping all bombing and shooting attacks against Israeli civilians, were disarming all non-PA militias, and wanted to seriously return to peace talks? But that hasn't happened yet, so the borders are closed again to prevent radical Palestinians from blowing themselves up on Israeli buses. The security fence works.

Yes, all the things you refer to as nice have happened! what will never stop is Israel's control over 2.4 million Palestinians in the West Bank! Palestinians behavior is irrelevant. Israel wants the land without the people, and regardless of how Palestinians behave! Israel will proceed stealing the land and legalize that theft! think of the colonies across the west bank! has it stopped during peace talks? it increased during peace talks, decreased during the Intifada!!
