BEIRUT (Reuters) -- The leader of Lebanon's Hezbollah said his group was capable of striking any target in Israel, saying "the days when we fled and they did not are over."

"Today we are not only able to hit Tel Aviv as a city but, God willing, we are able to hit specific targets in Tel Aviv and anywhere in occupied Palestine," Hassan Nasrallah said in a televised address.

"For every building destroyed in Dahiya, a building will be destroyed in Tel Aviv," he said, referring to Hezbollah's stronghold in a suburb of southern Beirut.

Nasrallah's comments were some of his harshest words against Israel in several months, and came amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran.

Israel argues Iran's nuclear enrichment project is being used to make an atomic bomb and has warned it could launch a strike to stop Tehran. Iran says its nuclear program is for civilian purposes.

Hezbollah is seen by many as a proxy for Iran and Syria and many analysts believe that in the event of an Israeli attack on Iran, Hezbollah could return fire.

"The days when we were forced from our homes and they were not forced from theirs are over," Nasrallah said, to cheers from a crowd of supporters watching his speech.

"The days when we were afraid and they were not are over," he said. "And we say to them: The time has come when we will remain and you will be the ones who disappear."

Hezbollah is a powerful political party and militant group in Lebanon and fought a war with Israel in 2006. The group claimed victory even though Lebanon suffered high casualties.

Nasrallah was speaking at an event to mark the completion of Hezbollah's renovation projects for neighborhoods in southern Beirut that were damaged by Israeli bombing in the 2006 war.

Why is that good news? You don't live in Lebanon. Nasrallah is busy now helping Assad kill Muslims, that is what he is good at. 150 Jews died in the Lebanon war. Assad and his friend Nassrallah have already killed 10,000 Muslims.

"...as a proxy for Iran and Syria "?Oh!#3:U must be Israeli? Don't dare talk of how many civilians were murdered in 1975-90 & thereafter,in Lebanon? With US-USSR-France-Israel etc, using the LA,Phalangists&Druce etc as THEIR PROXIES,getting Muslims to KILL each other, for foreign CONTROL! Now,since Egypt's revolt the USG,Russia-France-Israel,are all ARMING/funding their Arab proxies AGAIN,to oust Assad, get NATO in,to Lebanon,Syria, then Iran,(to contain Russia's southern borders)for oil/gas control.

It is good because it is enough deterrence to hinder the Zionist entity to advance into Lebanon again. As you know, Lebanon was occupied from 1982 to 2006. If Israel is stupid enough to attack again, it will face severe consequences that it cannot afford. The Syrian situation is a civil war with NATO elements, Qatar and Saudi sending tons of weapons and mujaheedin into the country. That is no revolution.

8 ) Actions Have / Consequences

IF "Hezbollah chooses to strike anywhere in Israel", then their fighters, and the state of Lebanon will both have to accept the CONSEQUENCES, which will make the 2nd Lebanon War* seem like a class field trip !!! * Consequences: - 500 dead & 1,500 wounded Hezbollah fighters - 1,200 dead & 4,400 wounded civilians, and - destruction of Lebanese infrastructure on a grand scale !!!
