Report: Haifa University cancels Nakba event
Published Wednesday 16/05/2012 (updated) 16/05/2012 21:18
TEL AVIV, Israel (Ma'an) -- The University of Haifa on Wednesday canceled an event planned to commemorate the Nakba, or catastrophe, of Palestinians' mass expulsion, the Israeli news site Ynet reported.

The university dean canceled the event when he realized it was to mark the Nakba, Ynet said.

Protesters held Nakba events in the West Bank, Gaza and around the world on Tuesday to mark the razing of Palestinian villages and the forced expulsion of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in 1948 during the founding of Israel.

So they should cancel such an event, which is far from the truth. What a disgrace that Tel Aviv University allowed it. Gee, imagine if students wanted to celebrate Yom Ha'atzmaut or Yom Yerushalayim in an Arab/Muslim country. The mind boggles at such a thought.

The Nakba (Catastrophe) where over 750,000 Palestinians from Cities and 526 Villages were forced from their homes and lands by Zionist militias & the Israeli army. These people and their children are living as refugees in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan,. . Please check your sources! Palestinians continue to be ethnically cleansed by Israeli laws & regulations. Start by looking at the map of Palestine starting with 1900 passing through 1948 to current, land grab continues in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

Adeeb . Check British census figures. There weren't that many Arabs in that part of P’stine. Jordan is P’stine - 79% of it. Do research. Israel asked the Arabs to stay & form a new country. Some fled because the leaders said they would return when the Zionists had been annihilated. Over million Jews were forced from Arab lands. Check what a refugee is. These are not refugees aren't, they weren't born in Israel,Judea, Samaria or Gaza. They were born in Lebanon, Syria & Jordan
