Coca Cola Palestine wins award for sustainable development

RAMALLAH/ISTANBUL (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian company producing Coca Cola products has won the international group's first award for sustainable development in Africa and Eurasia.

The National Beverage Company Coca Cola/Cappy received the top award at a ceremony in Istanbul last week, among 96 Coca Cola bottling partners operating the regions.

"For more than 14 years, the company has been producing a variety of high quality local and international beverages including juices, carbonated drinks, and mineral waters," the company's general manager Imad Al-Hindi told Ma'an.

"The Palestinian market is full of obstacles and hardships, which the company turned into motives to serve the Palestinian society," he added.

The company, based in Ramallah, holds the license for producing Coca Cola products in Palestine. Chaired by Zahi Khouri, the group sponsors projects to support youth and children, sports, health, environment and education in Palestine.

mabrook to the company but all people in ramallah can see the plastic bottles of the coca-kola company (water and flavor drinks} in the streets and piles of junk that gets burned and is bad for lungs. this is not 'sustainable' as we have no means of recycle. Help us coca-cola with the going green...our Children are choking on your plastic waste filling our streets.

cca cola is a major zionist controlled company and US icon who are destroying Palestinians and right to a state this is ironic when Plas call for devestment and sanctions how many innocent muslims have to die for a palestinian state and PA sign tax deal with the occupiers enhancing the occupation after all it is against international law why dont pals admit thgey are afraid of doing anything to upset US and NATO while all other muslims doing the heavy lifting to get pal state

this is a terrible joke, the stupid men in suits who run the palestinian authority (effectively as a mafia, and as a puppet of israel) are so corrupt that they even endorse the coca cola corporation!
