JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces demolished a home in East Jerusalem on Monday on the pretext that it was being built without a permit, Wafa news agency reported.

The house in the Mount of Olives was under construction, owner Samih Idris told Wafa, adding that bulldozers arrived without any prior warning and destroyed the structure.

Idris said he was also fined by the Jerusalem municipality.

On May 9, Israeli authorities demolished an under-construction house in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Beit Hanina.

Three weeks earlier, Israeli police forcibly evicted 14 members of the Natsheh family after an Israeli court ruled in favor of settlers, who moved into the property.

EU missions in Jerusalem and Ramallah slammed the eviction in Beit Hanina, saying they were "deeply concerned by the plans to build a new settlement in the midst of this traditional Palestinian neighborhood."

Palestinian politician Mustafa Barghouti in early May warned a spate of demolition orders were part of Israel's "race against time" to Judaize Jerusalem by imposing facts on the ground.

A report released this week by an Israeli human rights NGO said Israeli authorities have revoked the status of 14,084 Palestinian Jerusalemites since 1967, no longer permitting them to live in the city.

Israel captured East Jerusalem in the 1967 Six Day War and later annexed it in a move never recognized by the rest of the world.

1 ) Mosson / Cairo - The frequent deaths we hear about in the tunnels from Gaza to Egypt are good examples. HAMAS inspect those tunnels and issue permits as well.

Mosson, nr1. Getting a building permit is an impossible thing if you're not jewish in Jerusalem. The municipality regulations are based on ethnicity, race and religion. Truly racist in nature. Building "without" permits is the only way to stay in Jerusalem. But I bet you already knew that, and your pretentious way is just to cover up your support for racism.

Mosson, I strongly doubt that the Israeli government is worried about the safety of structures of homes for Palestinian. The reality is that no building permit is ever granted to Palestinians (or maybe one out of a hundred, I lack proper statistics at the moment).

@Mosson/Cario - Kindly do not comment on issues that you’re not familiar with. The Israeli government does not approve permits for Palestinians to build and/or repair homes. I am interested in asking you what should they do if they can’t build and/or repair homes and don’t forget they can’t live in jewish only settlements???

JERUSALEM BELONGS TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE THERE, NOT TO ONE GROUP OF PEOPLE. STOP THE DEMOLITIONS! STOP THE HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS! BOYCOTT, DIVEST, SANCTION ISRAEL UNTIL THAT COUNTRY RECOGNIZES PALESTINIAN SELF-DETERMINATION. NO DOUBLE STANDARDS--ISRAEL MUST RESPECT HUMAN RIGHTS LIKE ANY OTHER COUNTRY MUST; AND ISRAEL MUST BE CRITICIZED AND PUNISHED FOR HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES JUST LIKE ANY OTHER COUNTRY!--MIKE LEVINSON New York

Israel is NOT Racist, since unpermited Jewish building are demolished too,
but it is RACISM OF PALESTINIANS to prohibit land sales to Jews !!
(And, the PA even executes the seller.)

Getting a Peace Agreement with the state of Israel is a POSSIBLE,
such that part of Area C, becomes part of Palestinian Areas/Palestine !!!
But, Sweden, the EU, & the UN all agree that will require 3 things:
1- talking with Israel,
2- negotiating with Israel, and
3- compromising with Israel !!!

Hello Philly-3: Jewish settlements continue to go up at a rapid pace whether they are permitted or not. Publish your list of Jewish settlements that have been recently demolished. It doesn't happen. The settlements are going up like skyscrapers, and the government of Israel will not close down even the outposts that are considered illegal, because the government supports ALL settlement expansion. Boycott, Divest, Sanction Israel NOW!

If there are Jews who want to live in the West Bank for historical or religious reasons, let them become citizens of the new state of Palestine, or at least live there as permanent residents with Israeli or American passports, like John Lennon lived in America. Otherwise, they should not be accepted as ISRAELI settlers.

You are right. "Naive taxpayers in America should wake up and cutoff all money".

But, when they do, it will certainly be to cutoff to racist, terrorist groups, like Fatah, Hamas, etc., that secretly or even publicly cheered for the 911 Twin Towers Attacks, rather than to a democratic ally, with many shared USA values, that also struggles against these same racist, terrorist groups !!!

7) Something else Sweden, the EU, & the UN all agree on: Israel is illegally occupying East Jerusalem and the West Bank. 12) Shared values such as Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib?

I've been to the Middle East more than once, and met with many people. I am convinced that the people there are willing and able to live together in peace, but the politicians and military bigshots, as well as the American diplomats, need to step aside and not interfer with the peacemaking process. Folks there have lived together for centuries, and are capable of shaping their own futures without outside interference. Leave the people alone, and stop sending weapons into the region.
