GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Gaza's High Court on Sunday rejected a request to postpone the election of the lawyers' union, an official said.

Union member Adel Abu Jahl told Ma'an the court had suspended the elections on April 7 while it considered a request to postpone the vote.

On Monday, the court decided to allow the vote, Abu Jahl said, adding that the union would announce a new date for the election.
