GAZA CITY (Ma’an) -- Jamal Khudary, head of the popular committee against the siege, said the anniversary of killings on board the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara should refocus attention on the Gaza blockade.

Khudary greeted in a statement the families of those who were killed in the Marmara and the Turkish presidency, government and people for their positions and support of the Palestinian people.

"The Marmara massacre marked a milestone in the Israeli siege of Gaza and showed the Palestinian people that the occupation has partially eased the siege in the face of international pressure”, he said.

Khudary stressed that an end to the siege means opening all borders and allowing all kinds of goods in addition to reopening the Gaza airport and passage between the West Bank and Gaza.
