Israel 'detains Youth Against Settlements coordinator'

HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces on Thursday detained the coordinator of Youth Against Settlements at the Allenby Bridge border crossing, a spokesman for the group said.

Issa Amro was heading to Italy for a workshop on popular peaceful resistance at the invitation of European Parliament member Luisa Morgantini, Tamer al-Atrash told Ma'an.

Amro was also due to speak at the Italian parliament about Youth Against Settlement's work in Hebron trying to reopen Shuhada street, al-Atrash said.

Shuhada Street, a main road in Hebron's once-bustling center, has been closed to Palestinians since an Israeli settler shot dead 29 Palestinians worshiping in Ibrahimi mosque in 1994.

Al-Atrash urged the Red Cross and rights groups to intervene on Amro's behalf.

I'm Palestinian and I live in France, and I'm sure that "Walid Shahabi" is just as much Palestinian as I'm the Queen of Saba ! No Palestinian would write 'Jordan-Palestine', 'leftist cronies' and talking about 'war on Jews'. "Walid" is probably posting from Edelstein's basement !

I'm an Israeli Jew and I live in Israel and I think Marco is as much a Jew as Walid is a Palestinian. No Jew would call Israel a fascist country, only some left winger who may or may not have some Jewish ancestry and who would be a Jew in Name Only or a Jew only for the Purpose of Defaming Israel. Do you keep Shabbat Marco? Marco is probably posting from Jihane's basement.

The pathetic thing about these vermin is that not only do they lie, but they think their lies are clever. They have this notion that because they're Jewish, they're intelligent and are outwitting everyone. Some Jews are intelligent -- but not them. They're morally deformed cretins. I have more respect for my dog.

@ 4 You're wrong, and you know that you're wrong. Lots of Jews - Israeli Jews included - call Israel a fascist country. And guess what: I googled our Italian friend, and found out that he's exists, he's a an fellow anthopologist, actually teaching at Cambridge, and if you read Italian, there's a lot of his writings on the net. Maybe you should go looking for some anti-zionist Danish Jews next time you're in Copenhagen. I know quite a bunch there.

Oh, and I forgot: Business is a perfect hypocrite! One doesn't have to be a religious Jew to be a Jew. The Jews have spent a lot of time 'explaining' that being a Jew is not only a religious denominator but that a Jewish people exist. Lots of Jews are atheists. How come as soon as a diaspora Jew is critical of Israel, he's excluded on religious criteria by Zionist Talibans ?

Now that we've started this game, I may as well add: I'm an Orthodox Jew living in the USA. (My identity can be checked by searching for my publiciations, some of which are available on line.) While it would be excessive to describe Israel's whole government as fascist -- if only a slight exaggeration, I'm afraid, in the case of its Foreign Minister -- the arrest of a nonviolent protest leader is a typical and shameful example of this criminal state's highhanded, casual brutality. Okay?
