PA urges UN to protect Palestinians
Published Monday 02/07/2012 (updated) 02/07/2012 20:44
RAMALLAH (Ma’an) -- The PA Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday urged the UN to protect Palestinians and implement international law in Palestine.

The ministry called on the world body to protect Palestinian people under occupation and urged all countries to support the two-state solution and hold Israel accountable for ending the peace process.

In a statement, it also called on the Quartet - the US, EU, Russia and UN -- not to remain silent about Israeli settlement building and aggression and to force Israel to abide by international law.

I did not understand from this article if PA asked UN to help to disarm and dismantle palestinian terrorist organizations - Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Al-Aqsa brigade and others. If not - is PA going to do it without any help? And when they are going to do it? After they fulfill their own duties PA can check on other side obligations.

Right after the PA just got done unleashing its police thugs to violently attack youth who participated in civil unarmed protests against fascist PA policies. Go back a day or two in Maan's website and see for yourself. Journalists and civilians beaten, detained and tortured. Maybe the PA should petition the UN to protect us against the PA.

1- If the UN needs to protect Palestinian people under occupation,
it is from the PA & Hamas governments, that either steal donations intended for state-building, or from being used them as human-shields, and
2- If the UN needs to support support the two-state solution, it is by pressuring both sides to negotiate, from the existing situation,
without making any demands before getting to the table !!!

The UN Security Council should remind the PA Foreign Ministry that:
1- There was NO state of "Palestine" before 1967, when the lands they now claim, came to be under Israeli control after the war, and
2- There is NO "Palestine" now either, except at UNESCO's Paris HQs, and
3- International law only applies to real nations, and until "Palestine" gets UN Security Council approval, the PA Foreign Ministry is wasting it's time !!!

They are 5.3 million Palestinians in Israel which exceed the Israeli population, if all stood together and march toward Israel they will invade the country without holding a gun in their hands. But I am not going to sit there miles away and encourage such move knowing casualties will rise.
