GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- The Gaza-based prisoners studies center said Wednesday that Israeli authorities have stepped up detention of Palestinians in recent weeks.

Center director Rafat Hamdoneh highlighted the detention of fishermen off the Gaza coast, and detention of Palestinians at checkpoints throughout the West Bank, as fueling the increase.
