HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces prevented the Governor of Hebron from visiting a family in the south of his governorate, he told Ma'an on Monday.

Israel's army told him to apply for permission from the Civil Administration, the Israeli defense department in charge of civil affairs in the occupied West Bank, Governor Kemal Hemaid said.

The PA official was trying to visit the family of Mohammed Khalil Abu Qabith, who live in southern village Imneizil, which lies in Israeli-controlled Area C.

He decried the move, saying: "What is the feasibility of the Palestinian Authority when the Israeli government prevents it from providing its duties and services to the citizens, especially in the marginal areas?"

Hemaid called on the international community to ensure Israel permits the PA to conduct its official business.
