PNI launches second phase of Israel boycott campaign

BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- The Palestinian National Initiative launched a second stage of its “Bader” campaign to boycott Israeli products in cities across the occupied territories.

Under the slogan "break your chains on your own," PNI leader Mustafa Barghouti said the second stage of the campaign would target Israeli products. He says the campaign already reduced consumption of Tapuzina juices by 70 percent in the West Bank.

At a news conference in front of the Nativity Church in Bethlehem, Barghouti said Israel sells about $4 billion worth of products in the Palestinian territories, which is its second foreign market after Europe.

He told reporters that the campaign aimed to "balance the scales" to benefit the Palestinian cause and "that won't happen without escalating Palestinian popular resistance to punish Israel."

Even a 10 percent reduction in the consumption of Israeli products would add 100,000 jobs to the Palestinian economy, he said, noting that unemployment hovers at about 40 percent for new graduates.

When you pour out Tapuzina, you still bought it. You just didn't drink it. And I guarantee you this, any amounts poured out won't affect sales - they will increase sales. Because poured out or not, someone, some little boy, is still going to want their Tapuzina. So thank you PNI, pour out more Tapuzina, pour out all of the Tapuzina on the West Bank, please! Pour pour. You will double the sales of Tapuzina.
