JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem on Monday ordered misprinted Qurans issued by an Egyptian publisher out of publication in the Palestinian territory.
Sheikh Mohammad Hussein issued a statement noting that the Qurans, printed by Dar al-Sabuny in Egypt, have over 30 pages in the wrong order, and calling on all libraries and printing shops to return copies to the Fatwa council.
The Mufti, the highest Islamic authority in the Palestinian territory, stressed the importance of accuracy when publishing the sacred text.
