GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A blackout in parts of Gaza City on Sunday was caused by a technical fault with electricity generators, the Gaza energy authority said.

A technical fault caused a blackout in 50 percent of Gaza City's neighborhoods, Gaza's Hamas-run Ministry of Energy told Ma'an.

The ministry said that possible vandalism may have triggered the fault in electricity generators, adding that legal proceedings will be taken against anyone found guilty of involvement.
