Officials: PA set to raise VAT by 1 percent

NABLUS (Ma'an) -- The Palestinian Authority intends to raise Value Added Tax by 1 percent, officials said Tuesday.

PA sources told Ma'an the Ramallah-based government planned to increase VAT to 15.5 percent.

Meanwhile Israel's Finance Minister Yuval Steinetz announced he would postpone an increase in VAT from 16 to 17 percent for one month, the Israeli daily Haaretz reported.
