BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces moved part of a military checkpoint on Sunday near the Bethlehem village of al-Khader, witnesses said.

Eyewitnesses told Ma'an that a checkpoint at the entrance to Newe Daniyyel settlement, built on private Palestinian land, was moved around 400 meters, effectively annexing around 300 dunams of land.

Farmers will no longer be able access their fields, an area equivalent to 3,000 sq. meters.

An Israeli army spokesman was unfamiliar with the incident.

...and another 300 dunums of land is filched from Palestinians and is lost to them for ever. How is it that the Israeli spokespersons are always unfamiliar with these incidents? The official replies to such queries are laughable. Just as in Nazi occupied countries many years ago, the voters in Israel can sit back and exclaim "I didn't know about that". Will that be a good enough excuse a second time around? I sincerely hope not!
