JERUSALEM (Ma’an) -- The UN General Assembly adopted with majority a draft for a resolution named “Palestinian people's right of self-determination,” an official said Thursday.

Ambassador Riyad Mansour said 179 countries voted for Palestine's right of self-determination, in a vote that confirmed that Palestine has the right to have an independent state.

Mansour urged all countries and UN organizations to keep supporting the Palestinian people.

According to the resolution, the UN General Assembly believes negotiations should be resumed as fast as possible.

The decision pointed to a ruling issued by the International Court of Justice on July 9, 2004 about the legal consequences arising from constructing the wall in the West Bank.

Israel, the United States, Canada, Palau, Micronesia, Marshall Islands, and Nauru vote against the decision. Cameroon, Tonga, and Honduras abstained from voting.

Negotiations with whom? The PA went to UNGA. UNGA cannot give them what they want -- which is recognition as anything other than as terrorists. Respect is earned. Even the names the arabs choose to call themselves suggest rebellious adolescents! And they've got a terrorist-in-a-suit for a leader whose election ran out in 2009. There is no visible means to keep the infrastructure solvent except through begging. Negotiations be resumed? With whom?

Even Israel, the United States, Canada, Palau, Micronesia, Marshall Islands, and Nauru WOULD HAVE VOTED IN FAVOR of the decision, IF THE RESOLUTION REQUIRED PALESTINIANS TO NEGOTIATE for everything: Both Borders and Refugees without 1967 preconditions !!
