GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli military vehicles and bulldozers crossed into an area of farmland in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, witnesses said.

Locals told Ma'an that five bulldozers dug up agricultural lands east of Beit Hanoun.

Saber al-Zaghain, a popular resistance coordinator, told Ma'an that Israel conducted dredging operations on farmland near Beit Hanoun, damaging Palestinian crops.

"These crops have been planted after the recent Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, and now is the season to harvest them in order to be distributed to the markets," she said.

Al-Zaghain called on the international community to protect Gazan farmers during the harvest season.

An Israeli army spokeswoman did not return calls seeking comment.

Bibi needs more rockets for Chuck Hagel's visit. Two at Eilat and one that looks like a soup can at Eshkol aren't enough.

But for concerted effort by the many fine NGO's, the international community is deaf, dumb and blind. In this age of instant communication, there is absolutely no excuse for this deafening silence. What is worse is the collaboration with fascist Israel in barring the NGO's. Thank you Ma'an for being there to let us know what is happening.

Here we go. One week it is poor Israel being intimidated by Gaza, and now they are playing this "tit-for-tat" game by entering a territory of land they have no business being on. NONE whatsoever! To think they ran their tanks over land that was planted and growing shows they have little regard for others, and tells me that Israel doesn't know how to respect itself let alone others. This is beginning to leave a bitter taste in my mouth. Israel has all it can do to take care of her own.

Criminal dogs! Such acts of wilfull destruction is an obvious attempt to goad retaliation from Gaza and an attempt to cause more poverty, lack of self sufficiency! It is another Zionist act of economic terrorism against Palestinian community!

this is one way of ensuring Palestinian farmers can't make a decent living. And Israel-apologists, don't give me any of that crap about "Israel entitled to defend itself" when they have, daily, breached the so-called truce, yet cry foul when Gaza commits a breach. Hypocrisy to the nth degree.
